It all started when…
I drove across the United States in the fall of 2020 to photograph the National Parks. In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, I was inspired to capture and delight in a sense of chosen isolation; the dry silence of southern California, the rain-soaked back country roads of Idaho, and the plains of Kansas became my only company for weeks on end. There was something so profound about the stillness—the power of natural cathedrals, the remarkable opportunity to slow down and take in the immediate now. I tried to capture that feeling with my Nikon at every chance I had.
